EAST TROY, Wis. – An Oct. 26 public meeting in East Troy will feature conceptual plans for improved boat access at Army Lake, located in Walworth County.
Army Lake is currently open to public access from an entrance at W1698 St. Peters Road, East Troy. The entrance point is 1/2 mile north of the parking lot, and allows for watercraft to be carried in from the parking lot to the lake. In the interim, this site will continue to be open for carry-in access.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has purchased 15.7 acres of property for proposed improvements to public access to Army Lake. Future development may require closures for additional road work and development.
The Oct. 26 public meeting, held at the East Troy Town Hall, N9330 Steward School Road, East Troy will run from 5-7 p.m. A conceptual plan for improved boat access will be posted at the meeting for the public to view and provide feedback. This project is being funded using Federal Sports Fish Restoration funds.
Army Lake is a 78 acre lake with a 17 foot maximum depth and an average of 8 feet. The parcel provides 989 feet of shoreline frontage on Army Lake.
