Construction Update WIS 20: The planned closure of the County ES north leg has been delayed one day to Thursday, July 18th. The severe weather the last two nights threw too much rain at us to work very effectively yesterday and today. I know moving this date twice not isn’t helpful, but it is the best option to ensure the project can meet the 21-day closure.  We will work to update all the message boards along County ES as quickly as possible.

Construction Update STH 120 09 19 2023

Thank you to everyone for your ongoing patience and understanding of the necessary closures to ensure your safety, and our safety.
Project work last week included:
• Sawcutting concrete, removing concrete, and preparing for concrete patches on STH 120 north of IH-43.
• Concrete pavement repairs/patching on STH 120 north of IH-43.
• Poured concrete curb & gutter, sidewalks, half of the trail’s concrete.
• Milling existing asphalt and paving new asphalt lower middle lift of mainline.
• Concrete girder repair on IH-43 bridges over STH 120.
• Finish pouring retaining wall coping.
Project work happening this week:
• Pour curb and gutter along MSE wall.
• Pour concrete sidewalk.
• Finish milling existing asphalt mainline and shoulder and continue paving new asphalt
• Concrete girder repair on IH-43 bridges over STH 120.
• Replacing aged bearing pad under the IH-43 bridges.
Traffic changes happening in the next 7 days: (Reminder that you can check out WIS 120 Rehabilitation – Walworth County (511wi.gov) for updates and help navigating the construction zones in the area.)
• Traffic switch on IH-43 NB and SB will be happening Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Work will be done to switch traffic from the current travel lane to the opposite side to finish work on the concrete on the bridges. A full width travel lane and shoulder will be maintained in both directions and will have little impact on travel over STH 120.
