TORNADO WATCH- Walworth County:

WIS 20 Weekly Construction Update 07/08/2024

Starting this week, roadway excavation will start back up in East Troy and guardrail/tree removals will occur in the closed section near the county line in preparation for the retaining wall work.
County ES North Leg Closure – Is currently scheduled for Monday, July 15th. See attached for a construction flyer describing the closure. WIS 20 and the County ES South leg will remain open during the closure, but you will not be able to cross WIS 20 using County ES during the 21-days we have it closed. We will have message boards on County ES alerting to the closure in advance of WIS 20, but no official detour will be posted.
WIS 20 (East Troy)
Traffic:
1) Access to Bower’s Produce can be made by continuing east on WIS 20 from County L (East Troy)
2) Access to Green Meadows can be made by going west on WIS 20 from WIS 83 (Waterford)
3) The area in front of Scot Industries where traffic goes on the gravel will be maintained to try and keep two lanes of traffic. This issue is the existing WIS 20 only has room for one lane, so we are trying to make that as useful as possible.
This Week:
1) Maintenance on the temporary gravel at the east end.
Next Week:
1) Continue roadway excavation – when work occurs between CTH L and the 2-lane match point, traffic may get moved back and forth to allow for the excavation to occur while maintaining access. Hopefully when this stretch is completed, the issue we are seeing with potholes in the gravel will be resolved.
